Ap-el is a non-profit making limited company which has been formed as a foundation to help a little boy called Elis. Elis has Cerebral Palsy and all the funds raised will be used to improve his quality of life.
Because of the seriousness of Elis’ condition, specialized equipment is essential in order to improve his development. This equipment can prove very expensive. Our goal in the short term is to build a multisensory room for Elis.
We are extremely proud of the fact that Jonathan Davies MBE has agreed to be the Patron for ap-el. If you also want to help Elis just like Jonathan, please browse this site for further information.
Our goal in the long term is to become a strong voice in order to fight for the rights of Welsh speaking children with special needs to be given the appropriate and an equal standard of education in Wales. We strongly feel that there isn’t enough emphasis being given to delivering one to one provision through the medium of Welsh. Children such as Elis cannot fight for their rights, therefore, it is our duty to do this on their behalf.
Each member of ap-el works on a voluntary basis therefore not a penny of the funds raised will be used to pay salaries. As Elis is one person, ap-el could not be given registered charity status. However, we have registered the foundation as a limited company, therefore, we are bound by legal regulations and will be sending a copy of our annual account to “Companies House”. Further information about the Board of Directors can be found on this website. Our aim is to run the foundation in a totally transparent manner.
